The Ischia Nature Festival is an event organized by the Italian Alpine Club, Ischia subsection, which for six years has regularly brought together experts in nature and sustainable development to present studies, projects, and experiences that share a common respect for nature and the harmonious development of the relationship between humans and nature. The event also includes experiences in nature (hiking, sailing, climbing, cycling, etc.) and a day of celebration with traditional folk music and dancing.
This year, Khaita was invited to represent dances inspired by Tibetan tradition, considering Tibet to be the mountain people par excellence.
During the conference, the history of Khaita and its connection with the teachings of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu were illustrated, followed by a dance performance from the Khaita-Harmony in the Space repertoire.
During the final party, attended by about 200 people, the group of dancers involved dozens of partygoers in the performance of some kordro dances, alternating with the ‘dancers’ of tammurriata (a folk dance typical of the devotional tradition of Campania, which has its roots in ancient Greek and Cretan sacred dances), in a joyful party atmosphere.
The representative group from Khaita consisted of Christiane Rhein, Petra Zezulkova, Clotilde Hubert, Elia Bernardoni, Lilya Letti, Elvira Riposati, and Paolo Pappone.
